Open up the side, open up the possibilities
A shipping container may seem like an enclosed steel box, but a Full Side Access container changes that completely. With the full-length side doors opened, almost the entire side of the container becomes accessible.
For this temporary art project, that feature turned a 20ft container into an open viewing space. A large screen was installed inside the container, allowing visitors to watch video work while gathering outside. Another container was positioned above it and incorporated into the installation, creating a highly visible structure that became part of the artwork and presentation itself.
A temporary space for art and culture
Temporary exhibitions often call for spaces that can appear where they are needed without requiring a permanent building.
A Full Side Access container offers an interesting starting point. Once transported to site, the long side can be completely opened to create a direct connection between the interior and its surroundings. Screens, artwork, lighting, branding or other elements can then be incorporated depending on the concept.
Here, the container was no longer simply something used to transport or store materials. It became the exhibition space. After the project, the temporary installation could be dismantled and the container returned to a completely different use.
