From Shipping Container to Fully Equipped Office
A mobile office that can be deployed internationally needs to offer more than simply a place to work. Different climates, international transport requirements and practical day-to-day use all had to be taken into account when developing this custom 20ft container for a defence client.
The container was fully insulated and equipped with split air-conditioning units for both heating and cooling, creating a comfortable working environment across a wide range of weather conditions.
Inside, a partition wall with a sliding door divides the container into two separate workspaces. Both areas have their own wooden desk with integrated cable management for power and internet connections. The electrical and data setup includes USB connections, a backup drive, router and switch, providing the infrastructure required for a functional mobile workplace. Each workspace can also be accessed independently. Personnel doors were installed at both ends of the container and can be locked from either side. A tilt-and-turn window provides natural light and ventilation, while a lockable steel shutter on the exterior offers additional protection when required.
Modifed Without Losing Mobility
An important requirement was that the container had to remain suitable for international shipping after modification. All alterations were therefore carried out within the applicable ISO requirements, allowing the container to retain its CSC approval and be transported between deployment locations.
The camouflage exterior gives the 20ft shipping container office a distinctive look while blending into its surroundings. Secure, climate-controlled and easy to transport, it combines practical workspace with the flexibility of a mobile container solution.
