A protected route through the construction area
At Schiphol, CBOX walk-through containers were used to create a temporary passage alongside construction activities. Instead of closing off the entire route, the containers create a clearly separated corridor through the area.
People can continue to move from one side to the other, while the steel container structure provides physical separation from the work taking place around them. Multiple units can be positioned in sequence to create the required length, turning individual shipping containers into a continuous temporary walkway.
Temporary infrastructure for a location that stays in use
At an airport, construction and day-to-day operations often have to exist side by side. Temporary infrastructure therefore needs to do more than simply close off a construction site. Walk-through containers make it possible to redirect pedestrian flows while keeping routes clearly defined and separated from surrounding activities.
The modular setup can be adapted to the project and removed again once the temporary route is no longer required. For Schiphol, the containers became part of the site infrastructure: not used for storage, but as a practical passage through an active environment.
